Ravenna, Texas -- Funeral services for Margaret Lorene Cain, age 87, will be held at Cooper-Sorrells Chapel on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Mulberry Cemetery.  Mrs. Cain passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Red River Regional Hospital in Bonham.

 

Margaret Lorene (Venable) Cain was born on August 6, 1922 in Soaper, OK to parents Jim Elmer and Mable Shannon Venable. She married James Audry Cain on September 8, 1939 in Bonham, TX. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Cain was very active in the community. She was a Mary Kay representative, active in 4-H and Home Demonstration Clubs; she was also active in MYF and a Sunday School Teacher. She held secretary and treasure position for Mulberry Cemetery Association for 48 years and retired from T.I. after 21 years of service. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Bonham.

 

 

She is survived by children- Debbie and husband Rip Winkler of Ravenna, Louise and husband Andy Via of Dallas, and Laqueta and husband James Crow of Sherman; granddaughter- Audra Andrew and husband Matt of Bonham; great-grandchildren- Aidan Andrew, and Aisly Andrew; brothers-Lloyd Venable and wife Bonnie of Mulberry, Dewie Venable and wife Bertha of Choctaw, OK, Billy Venable of Mulberry, and Jack Venable and wife Wanda of Garland; along with numerous nieces, nephews, step granddaughters, and step grandsons.

 

She was also preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law James Alvie Cain and sister-in-law Lois Cason.

 

Pallbearers will be Curtis Brown, Johnny Baker, Ronnie Hill, Johnny Ortiz, Ronnie Ball and Ronnie Rudy. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Hall, Bob Sanford, and Charles Steen.

 

The family would like to thank all the staff at Seven Oaks Nursing Home and RRR Hospital for their care and support.

 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mulberry Cemetery Association and/or First United Methodist Church in Bonham.

 

Family visitation is scheduled for Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham from 6-8 P.M.
