On Friday, January 15, '10, Harmony House Concerts will feature not only Cosy Sheridan, but also her musical partner, TR Ritchie, at 7 pm. Both Cosy and TR have their own individual careers as singer-songwriters, but when they play together it's like enjoying fresh raspberries and cream. Their songwriting and performing blend, yet they have their own distinctive flavor and zest. Visit their websites, www.cosysheridan.com and www.trritchie.com to hear song clips and learn more about their songwriting awards at festivals from coast to coast.

This vintage home offers the warmth and ambiance that sets the stage for an intimate, interactive evening of fun & music. Bottomless cups of coffee, tea, or a variety of juices are available, as well as "goodies" during the break between the 45-minute sets. There will be a basket for an optional $1 cash donation to defray the costs to hosts, Faye & Scott.
All guests are invited to participate in a "Soup-er Supper" at 6 pm. This will be the "warm-up" before the show. If planning to attend this Potluck Dinner, please state your intent when making reservations. Guests will be asked to bring items, such as different soups, salads, breads, and desserts. It helps Faye to plan a more balanced menu, if you indicate what you would prefer to bring.
Laughter and entertainment are good medicine, so an evening with Cosy and TR will make you both healthier and wiser. These two weave songs and stories into magical, musical potion.
Snippets about Cosy:
Cosy Sheridan has been called "one of the era's finest and most thoughtful singer/songwriters." She has played everywhere from Carnegie Hall to the Philadelphia Folk Festival and is the winner of numerous songwriting awards. Her music has appeared in best-selling author Robert Fulghum's book, Third Wish, as well as on The Dr. Demento Show and NPR's Car Talk. Now, in her critically acclaimed new CD Eros (WindRiver), Sheridan weaves a cycle of songs about love.

She first appeared on the national folk scene in 1992 when she won the songwriting contests at both the Kerrville Folk Festival and the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and released her critically acclaimed CD, Quietly Led on Waterbug Records. Folk Music Quarterly wrote: "When she's accepting her Grammy, we can say we knew her when."
Since then she's released eight more CDs and written a one-woman show: The Pomegranate Seed - An Exploration of Appetite, Body Image and Myth in Modern Culture, and co-founded The Moab Folk Camp with Ritchie. She is a regular songwriting and performance teacher at adult music camps across the country, among them The Puget Sound Guitar Workshop in Washington and The Swannanoa Gathering in North Carolina.
Snippets about TR:
TR Ritchie learned his musical chops as a busker at the famed Pike Street Market of Seattle during the late '70's, a solid apprenticeship that resulted in Not Just Another Pretty Songwriter, his first recording, in 1984. The collection received excellent reviews regionally and not long afterwards he was featured on a hot-selling regional anthology produced by Seattle radio station KEZX. An increasingly busy concert schedule began taking him further afield, where he quickly established a place for himself as a first-rate songwriter and performer.

Michael Terry, booking coordinator for the long-running Dallas venue, Uncle Calvin's Coffeehouse, sums things up this way: "TR Ritchie must be the reincarnation of Jimmie Rodgers, Woody Guthrie, Samuel Clemens and Will Rogers. How else to explain his great songs? His melodies are classics that will stay with you for years. TR is one of the very best!"
