Both recognitions honor Warrior as one of the top 100 fastest-growing, privately held companies in the Dallas area.
DALLAS - November 16, 2009 – DeSoto, Texas-based Warrior Group, one of the largest minority- and woman-owned construction services companies in the country, has been ranked fifth on SMU Cox’s Dallas 100™ Awards and Dallas Business Journal’s 100 Fastest Growing Companies lists for its extraordinary growth. Warrior’s newest ranking on the Dallas 100™ Awards list is a significant advancement from the company’s 68th place last year.
“I am extremely honored on behalf of Warrior Group to have been acknowledged by two respected Dallas institutions,” said Gail Warrior-Lawrence, president and CEO of Warrior Group. “These recognitions of our success will encourage us as we constantly pursue new directions of growth while continuing to provide value and quality to our customers.”
Since 1990, the SMU Cox Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship has identified and honored the 100 fastest-growing privately held companies in the Dallas area. The 2009 top companies were recognized at the Dallas 100TM Awards ceremony at the Meyerson Symphony Center on November 4, with keynote speaker Sam Wyly, entrepreneur, author and founder of Green Mountain Energy. Lisa Bormaster, publisher of the Dallas Business Journal, and Kevin Knox, assistant dean of external relations, SMU Cox School of Business, served as emcees for the event. Each year, winners are chosen based on increased growth in sales, giving weight to both percentage of growth and absolute dollar growth in the three years preceding the event.
Similarly, the Dallas Business Journal’s 100 Fastest Growing Companies list recognizes companies with a proven track record of revenue and sales growth. Warrior Group was selected through a competitive process with other top privately held Dallas companies.
Warrior Group adds these honors to its growing list of accolades including a ranking on the 2009 Inc. 500|5000 list, which recognizes America’s fastest growing private companies, and 2009 ICIC Inner City 100, a ranking of the fastest growing inner-city companies in the country.
“This is recognition of Warrior Group’s success due to the dedication, talent and inspiration of every member of the Warrior team. I am both proud and grateful,” added Warrior-Lawrence.
