McKINNEY, Texas  – City of McKinney offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 24 and 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday. City offices will also be closed Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day.  

In addition to the closures, some facilities have special holiday hours. The Hall Memorial Library will close at 6 p.m. on Dec. 21 through 23. Dec. 31. The John and Judy Gay Library will operate during regular hours, Tuesdays from noon to 8 p.m. and Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. unless on the holidays specified.

On Dec. 31, the Community Center, Old Settler’s Recreation Center and the Senior Recreation Center will close at 3 p.m., and the Senior Pool close at 5 p.m. 

The refuse and recycling collections will change for the holiday. For those routes scheduled for Thursday and Friday, Dec. 24 and 25, garbage and recycling will move forward one day. The pick up for Thursday will be on Friday, and Friday’s scheduled pick up will occur on Saturday. For those routes scheduled for Friday, Jan. 1, garbage and recycling will move forward one day to Saturday.
