On Thursday evening, December 10, 2009, the glorious sounds of the harp will resound from the walls of the Music Room at the Bayless-Selby House Museum.

The museum has proudly presented many different musicales since its first Festive Season of 2001, and visitors have enjoyed spectacular performances from violinists, cellists, flutists, guitarists, auto harpists, people playing recorders and wooden flutes, and singers have performed in ensembles and in solo.

Without taking any shine from these experiences, it is without doubt that the harp is the chosen favorite for most of our visitors.

The museum has had three different harpists perform between its walls, and has asked world-renowned Jaymee Haefner, Professor of Harp at the University of North Texas, and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music at Texas Woman’s University, to perform once more in one of the Holiday Musicales that will be presented this Festive Season.  Jaymee has played at the museum on two previous occasions, and it is by popular demand that she will play again.

The Holiday Musicales are presented thanks to a grant from the Greater Denton Arts Council, with support from The Arts Guild, Texas Commission on the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Arts, the City of Denton, and Denton County.
