McKINNEY, TEXAS (Dec. 4, 2009) McKinneys annual favorite Dickens of a Christmas, kicked off the holiday season last weekend in Historic Downtown McKinney. The cheer continues with regular events in the town center with events all month long.
Visits with Santa Claus
- This Saturday, Dec. 5, Santa can be seen strolling through downtown and making special stops in the following locations:
- 11 a.m. 11:30 a.m. (Coffee N Cream)
- 11:45 a.m. 12:30 p.m. (Spoons Caf้)
- 12:45 p.m. 1:30 p.m. (The Pantry)
- 2 p.m. 3 p.m. (Strolling)
- Santa will visit downtown on Saturday, December 12 and December 19 from 1 p.m. 5 p.m. and joining in carriage rides from 3 p.m. 5 p.m.
Horse Drawn Carriages: Happy Trails Horse Carriage Service
- For the next three Saturdays (Dec. 5, 12,19), FREE carriage rides are available throughout the Historic Commercial District from 3 p.m. 5 p.m.

10Th Annual Rotary Christmas Light Parade
- Saturday, Dec. 5 at 6:30 p.m.
- The parade route will start on Tennessee St., travel to Hunt St., west to Kentucky St. and then south back to Davis and Tennessee.
Candlelight Shopping until 8 p.m.
- Shops in Historic Downtown McKinney will stay open Saturday nights in December until 8 p.m. for Candlelight Shopping.
