Over two dozen talented actors, comprised mostly of children, will take the stage at the Bonham VA Auditorium Friday night for the first of six performances of A Christmas Carol, Charles Dickens's timeless tale of how compassion and generosity can transform and warm even the coldest hearts.
The production at the Bonham VA Auditorium will be courtesy of the Creative Arts Center Theatre Troupe, but these gifted young thespians aren't the only ones who have been working hard in order to have everything perfect for opening night. Inspired by the Theatre Troupe, a group of artists from the Creative Arts Center decided to create the perfect backdrop for the performance.
The result is a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted set that is 18-feet long. Kay Carrel, Mart Means Carole Stubsten and Chris Cravens painted the eye-catching scene in two days.
"Our artists came in to do a professional setting for an outdoor scene," says Fannin Community Foundation Executive Director Bob Self.

Dickens wrote A Christmas Carol in 1843. Come see why audiences have been warmed by this beautiful story of redemption and Christmas spirit.
The Theatre Troupe has performances at Bonham VA Auditorium scheduled for Friday, December 4 at 6:30 p.m.; Saturday, December 5 at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, December 12 at 2:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.; and Saturday, December 19 at 2:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
