Trenton Lady Tigers 33, Detroit Lady Eagles 23

The Trenton Lady Tigers (1-3) got into the win column in the second round of the 6th Annual Glen Fields Invitational Tournament Friday with a win over Detroit, 33-23.
In the first quarter, the Lady Eagles took control of things early and at the end of the first period Trenton was down 12-7. In the second, the Lady Tigers cut into the lead and went into the half down by three, 16-13.
The third quarter was the turnaround for the Lady Tigers. Solid defense held Detroit to five point while Trenton's offense poured in 14 points to end the third, 27-21. In the final period, Trenton defense did it's job again holding the Lady Eagles to two points and taking control of the game for a final score 33-23.
Leading the balanced scoring attack was Kristin Rhoden with eight points, Gabbie Galvan with seven, Marla Frazier with six, Alexis Somers and Casey Beezley each had three, and rounding out the scoring was Joyce Garrison, Shannon Robinson, and Cessna Reed with two points each.
The Lady Tigers will be in action on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. They will be playing Blue Ridge for consolation in the tournament.
