The Bland Lady Tigers faced the Ector Lady Eagles on Thursday in the first round of the Campbell tournament and solid team defense by Bland resulted in a 20-point win, 47-27, for the Lady Tigers first win of the young season.
The Bland girls will play the winner of Blue Ridge and Campbell Friday night at 6:30.

"We had very balanced scoring on the night which I really like," remarked Bland head coach Glenn Boerger.
Hannah Black knocked down nine points, with Morgan McNatt and Michelle Estrada each chipping in eight points. Natalie Reyna and Cheyenne Phipps both finished with seven points apiece, Melea Rainey scored six and Kailee Warren tossed in two points.
Kristina Williams led Ector with 10 followed by Bailey Whitehead with seven.
The Bland Lady Tigers opened the season against a very impressive Community team and came away with a loss.
Bland played Cornerstone Christian academy out of Richardson this past tuesday and fell 40-35.
The Lady Tigers had an 11-point lead and then a lid went on the basket and nothing would fall to fall.
Morgan McNatt had 14 points followed by 5 each from Hannah Black, Cheyenne Phipps and Melea Rainey.
