Bonham Rotarians hear program on Fannin Pregnancy Care Center
By Bonham Rotary Club
Nov 19, 2009

At a recent Bonham Rotary meeting there were baby bottles waiting to be filled with loose change for the Fannin Pregnancy Care Center. The program was presented by Rotarian Janet Martin's guest speaker Donna Ober, Director of FPCC.

Fannin Pregnancy Care Center's Mission Statement:  In partnership with area churches, the mission of the Fannin Pregnancy Care Center is to empower women and men with information to make informed and confident decisions about unexpected pregnancies, sexually transmitted diseases (infections), and to provide abstinence education.

The vision  of the Fannin Pregnancy Care Center is to promote the love of Jesus Christ by offering real choices and education to make life affirming decisions and to enrich and ultimately save lives.

The Need:  An unplanned pregnancy can be bewildering and extremely stressful.  FPCC was created to support women physically, emotionally and spiritually throughout their pregnancy and first 2 years of their child's life.  The generous contributions of our ministry partners allow us to provide a beautifully appointed, peaceful atmosphere where clients are presented with accurate, complete information and counseling.  Spending time with trained client advocates in this non-threatening, caring and nurturing environment empowers the client to make the best decision for herself and her baby.

Our Kids:  Nationwide, 34% of pregnant girls between 15 and 19 years old choose abortion*.  Although statistic show abortion rates are declining, Fannin County women still choose this option.  Until the January 2009 opening of FPCC, Fannin County women had to seek help outside our our county.  We thank you for your support and prayers as we offer hope and help.

Our Churches:  Nationwide, 70% of women obtaining abortions in the U.S. identify themselves as Protestant(43%) or Catholic(27%)*

Offering Hope:

Without hope for their situation, some 70% of women undergo abortion while actually believing it is wrong.** FPCC was created to help these women see an unplanned pregnancy in a different wight-the light of hope found in Jesus Christ and love from His people.

FPCC promotes the Biblical model of marriage by patterning and encouraging positive lifestyle changes.  Empowered by a relationship with Jesus Christ an shepherded by local church members, it is the prayer of FPCC staff and volunteers that the client and families will make this permanent lifestyle change.

WE are taught that every believer is to not only preach the gospel, but to love our neighbor.

By being a voice for the helpless and assisting women in need, FPCC exemplifies being a good neighbor.  We know that nurturing an expectant mother nurtures her child.  To share the love of Jesus and encourage families to follow Him will transform Fannin County.
