Addison, Texas -- The Melissa Lady Cards started fast and finished strong in a 23-point win over Trinity Christian Academy on Saturday.
The Melissa girls came out strong, taking a 14-4 first quarter lead and then extending it every period of the game. TCA was held to seven field goals for the game and none in the fourth quarter to secure the win for the Lady Cardinals.
Skyler Zadow and Keleigh Taylor each finished with 14 points to lead the Lady Cardinals. Jacqui Nickell knocked down a dozen points and Morgan Helmberger had eight points. Shelby Hill and Claighton Bush both tossed in two points apiece.
Hamstad had 10 points to lead TCA and Allen scored nine.
Melissa head coach Larry Nickell was particularly pleased with the consistent effort defensively and the balanced scoring on offense. The Lady Cardinals are now 2-0 on the year with the next game at Melissa High School on Tuesday, November 17 at 6:30 p.m.
