At 11:00 a.m., students, faculty and residents of Trenton gathered around the High School flagpole to pay tribute to the Veterans of our great country.  In a short ceremony, Trenton Athletic Director (and US Army veteran) Keith Kirkland gave the history of Veterans Day.

Gene Pilgrim, an Air Force veteran from Garland, played "Reveille" as Eagle Scouts Nick Frattarelli and Garrett Lewis raised the Stars and Stripes.  As Mr. Pilgrim then played the national anthem, members of the crowd could be seen softly singing along.

To remember those veterans no longer with us, Mr. Pilgrim played Taps as the flag was lowered to half staff.  After a moment of silence, the crowd was dismissed.

Trenton High School and Trenton ISD would like to thank the veterans of this community, and the nation for their service to our country.
