Bowie, Texas -- The Lindsay Lady Knights dropped the first two decisions to the Bowie Lady Jackrabbits on Saturday before bouncing back to win the next three games to clinch the warm-up match.

Lindsay traveled to Bowie for this contest and the Lady Jackrabbits valiantly defended their home court.  Bowie took the opener, 25-19, and then proved that victory was no fluke by winning game two, 25-18.

On the road and trailing 2-0, Lindsay showed a glimpse of why big things are expected from this team in the playoffs.

Bowie battled point-for-point again in a pivotal third game, but Lindsay refused to let this one get away.  The Lady Knights held on to win, 25-22. 

Game four was just as competitive.  Once more, Lindsay turned back a serious challenge from Bowie to put a 25-21 victory in the books.

Coaches try to get as much work done as possible in these tune-up matches and that plan worked to perfection Saturday in Bowie as both teams took the floor for the tiebreaker.

Lindsay finished off the tough Bowie team by taking game five, 15-11.

The Lady Knights got a strong performance from their one-two punch of Kristin Martin and Kaylee Murphree.  Martin racked up 18 kills to go along with an amazing nine blocks and a dozen digs, while Murphree slammed down 16 kills and finished with four blocks and a pair of aces.  

All the hitters have to step up in the playoffs and Lindsay's supporting cast also gave a strong performance.  Jordan Fleitman and Allison Metzler each knocked down seven kills. Taylor Atkins added four kills.

Katie Arendt came through for four aces and Alyx Ethington had three aces.

In addition to dishing off 38 assists as she directed the Lindsay offense, Brenna Mlinar managed to collect three kills and 12 digs.

Lindsay (31-10) has a bye in the first round of the playoffs.  The Lady Knights will take on the winner of the bi-district match between Ranger and Santa Anna in the area playoff match.  (Date, site, and time are to be determined.)
