DENTON (UNT), Texas – Every month millions of passengers pass through the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. Jeffrey P. Fegan, the facility’s chief executive officer is responsible for making sure that the airport runs as smoothly as possible for those millions of customers.
University of North Texas students will have the opportunity to learn from Fegan’s more than 30 years of aviation industry experience when he speaks on Nov. 6 (Friday). Fegan’s talk will be part of the UNT College of Business Distinguished Lecture Series. The talk will be held in the Golden Eagle Suite in the University Union, which is located one block west of Welch and West Prairie streets (1155 Union Circle).
Fegan’s talk is titled “Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport – The World Connected.” He will give an overview of the airport, the board’s strategic plan for the airport and all of the different facets of the airport as a business.
Fegan has been the CEO of the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport Board since February of 1994. As CEO, Fegan recommends policies to the board for planning, constructing, maintaining, operating and regulating the airport. Fegan also has worked as the airport’s deputy executive director of finance and administration, the director of planning and engineering, assistant director of planning and engineering and chief planner.
The Dallas Fort Worth region is one of the country’s largest aviation hubs. Offerings like Fegan’s talk expose UNT students to the opportunities in the aviation industry. UNT also recently announced plans to be the first public, four-year university in Texas to offer a bachelor’s of science degree in aviation logistics. That program will begin next fall.
