McKinney Education Foundation, Bob Tomes Ford Lincoln Mercury kick off "Education Drives the Future" fund drive

Bob Tomes Ford Lincoln Mercury in McKinney and the McKinney Education Foundation (MEF) are going green by raffling off a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid to raise funds for MEF.

“Bob Tomes Ford is proud to partner with MEF for the ‘Education Drives the Future’ campaign,” said Bob Tomes, owner of Bob Tomes Ford Lincoln Mercury. “Our hope is that funds raised as a result of this donation will enable local students to achieve their educational goals and fulfill their potential.”

The car is already making appearances around town at high school football games and chamber events.  Raffle tickets may be purchased at Bob Tomes Ford Lincoln Mercury, Central Expressway between Virginia and Eldorado, or the MEF office at 510 Heard St. in the historic district.

“This promotion is such a great way to get the word out around town about MEF’s mission to inspire the McKinney community to support excellence in education,” said Melanie Perkins, MEF Executive Director. “We are so pleased the Tomes family shares our vision to be a resource to assist MISD students in pursuing their dreams through higher education.”

The raffle drawing will be held May 28, 2010, at the MEF Scholarship Awards Ceremony.  More information and program rules can be found at www.MmEeFf.com.
