Deputy Baxter responded to a cattle theft call on CR 2145. The complainant advised Deputy Baxter an unknown person(s) had stolen 26 head of cattle from his property. The complainant was able to show the deputy the location where the cattle were when they were removed from his property. The suspect(s) had constructed a makeshift corral and loading area and loaded the cattle into a trailer. The complainant gave Deputy Baxter the name of a possible suspect. Total loss $13,000. Case is under investigation.
Deputy Doan responded to a disturbance call in Ladonia. The complainant advised the deputy that her son was intoxicated and was vandalizing her home. Deputy Doan made contact with the suspect in an attempt to determine exactly what was occurring at the residence. The suspect was detained, handcuffed and placed in the rear seat of the deputies patrol vehicle for the safety of the deputy. While the deputy was investigating the call the detained individual attempted to kick out one of the rear passenger windows on the patrol unit. At this point the suspect was formally arrested for Criminal Mischief >$500 <$1500. The suspect was taken to the county jail without further incident.
Deputy Baxter observed a vehicle at a residence on FM 271. Baxter knew this particular residence had been burglarized in the past. He checked the registration and found that the vehicle was not registered to the owner of the residence. Deputy Baxter contacted Deputy Scott and requested assistance at the location, because of a possible burglary in progress. Deputies checked the perimeter of the residence and located shoe tracks leading to some out buildings. As the deputies approached one of the out buildings they observed 3 individuals. The subjects told deputies they had permission from the owner to be on the property. While speaking with the individuals it was found that 1 subject was in possession of marijuana and another was in possession of drug paraphernalia. Two of the three were arrested and transported to the county jail without incident. The third subject was released at the scene.
