Sam Rayburn House Museum presents Cemetery Walking Tour Oct. 31

BONHAM, Texas –– The Sam Rayburn House Museum will host a Cemetery Walking Tour on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 11:00 a.m. at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham. The tour will focus upon those buried at Willow Wild Cemetery who were integral in Sam Rayburn’s life.

During the tour, attendees will hear short biographical sketches of employees, business associates family and friends of Sam Rayburn. The event is free and will include hot cocoa and cookies. 

The tour will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Sam Rayburn’s grave near the entrance to Willow Wild Cemetery, which is located near the intersection of highways 56 and 121.

The Sam Rayburn House Museum tells the real story of Sam Rayburn, one of the most powerful and influential politicians of the 20th century, in his authentic 1916 home. Preserved as a period time capsule, the two-story home contains all original Rayburn furnishings.
