In honor of two valuable employees who are retiring, Fannin Bank is inviting customers, business associates, friends and family of Betty Shipman and Linda Boyer to a reception at Fannin Bank in Bonham on Friday, October 2.  

The reception will be held in the bank lobby from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Guests will enjoy punch and cookies while visiting with Betty and Linda.

Betty Shipman got into the banking business on January 4, 1980 when she was hired by former First National Bank of Bonham Cashier Mary Law. 

Betty went to work for Fannin Bank on August 7, 2000.  Ironically, Mary Law had become Cashier at Fannin Bank at that time and Mrs. Law hired Betty for the second time.  

During her 29-year career in banking, Betty has worked in every department except loans.  She advanced to being the bank's head teller and says being a teller is the most enjoyable position because of the opportunity to visit with customers.

Betty's future plans include spending time with her family, including her four grandkids, plus do volunteer work through her church, Trinity Baptist.  Of course, she intends to get in a little fishing, too.

Linda Boyer has worked in the Honey Grove branch of Fannin Bank where she served as the new accounts representative.  She started her banking at Bonham State April 21, 1975. Linda started at Fannin 
Bank March 3, 2008.  During her career in banking, she has worked in every department except for loans.

Linda has many interests that she looks forward to devoting a little more time to after retirement. 

Linda has two children and three grandsons, so spending more time with her family will be a top priority.   Linda will also have more time to crochet, as well as work on the other crafts she enjoys.
