The Tribute to Jimmy Driftwood is Saturday, October 3 at the Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View and performers will include Glen & Nellie Branscum, Clancey Ferguson, The Gardner Boys, Lana & Landon Griffith, Emily Phillips and Joe Jewell & Friends.

Jimmy Driftwood was a prolific folk songwriter and musician, most famous for his songs "The Battle of New Orleans" and "Tennessee Stud."

Jimmy was born in Mountain View, Arkansas and learned to play guitar at a young age on his grandfather's homemade instrument. This homemade instrument produced a pleasant distinctive resonant sound. His songs dealt with courtin', life in the Ozarks, the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, American folklore and even Sea Shanties!  Jimmy used a handmade guitar made by his great-grandfather, Elija Morris. Jimmie claims to have used this guitar on every one of his recording sessions.

The evening concert will be at 7:00 pm on Saturday with doors opening at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $10 for Adults, $6 for Children 6 – 12. Season Passes will be honored.
