McKINNEY, Texas (Sept. 17, 2009) – The City of McKinney announces the availability funding for eligible non-profit agencies and community organizations that serve residents of McKinney.

The Community Support Grant (CSG) allows the flexibility to apply for funding under the following priority of needs: 

§                     Disaster aid

§                     Basic needs, like food and clothing

§                     Housing - both financial and non-financial assistance

§                     Health and medical, including mental health

§                     Transportation

§                     Recreation and athletics  

The application and instructions will be available at the city’s Web site, http://www.mckinneytexas.org/, under the heading, Community Services/General Information.

The Community Grants Advisory Commission (CGAC) will review all applications and make recommendations to City Council for approval. Applications must be received no later than Friday, Oct. 9 at 5 p.m. Please submit applications to the following address:  City of McKinney, Development Services Department, 221 N. Tennessee St., McKinney, TX  75069.
