The Red River Historical Museum announces a new exhibit, "Sherman Music Men" which pays tribute to three musicians born in Sherman. Among them is Buddy Tate, jazz saxophonist who played with such greats as Count Basie and Benny Goodman; Buck Owens, C&W guitarist/singer; and Emory Perry, an early Doo-Wop saxophonist.
The exhibit highlights the three with framed art containing their hit record, donated by Roy Vickery of Memory Music of Sherman, along with biographies of each musician. "Music Men" will be featured until March of 2010. The Red River Historical Museum, 301 S. Walnut in Sherman, is open free to the public, Tuesday through Saturday, 10-4pm.
