QUANAH, TX. -This year's Annual Summer Art Exhibition will end Sunday, August 16, 2009 at 4:00 p.m.  This year's exhibit, titled "Shutters and Shooters," features photography. More than ten regional and local artists led by special guest artist Mark Hilliard of Wayland Baptist University, are showing their work in the Copper Breaks State Park headquarters/museum.

Admission to the exhibit is free with regular park admission of $2.00 for adults.

The Annual Art Exhibition is the annual fundraiser for the Quahadi Society, Friends of Copper Breaks State Park, a 501c3 tax exempt organization committed to supporting special events, educational, recreational, and preservation activities at the park.

The Annual Summer Art Exhibition began 13 years ago with a showing of the "Chuckwagon Chronicles," the photography of Texas journalist Frank Reeves.  Since then, the park and its friends group has hosted an annual summer art show.

"Thanks to the sponsorship of the Quahadi Society, Friends of Copper Breaks State Park, we are able to have the annual exhibition," said park manager David D. Turner.
