The Fannin Rebels saw the error bug knock them out of contention in the USSSA World Series on Friday in Plano.  The Rebels error woes continued against the Kansas Flame FSH team with 6 errors on 6 hits.  Only one of the Flame's runs was earned - all the others came from errors.

Lindsey Stanley, a junior at Leonard High School, pitched for the Fannin Rebels, giving up just one earned run and three hits to the No. 4 seed in the 18U-A tournament.  Lauren Camp, a senior at Savoy High School, and Carly Sadler, a Sam Rayburn graduate, each accounted for two hits, but a controversial call in the third inning kept the Rebels off the scoreboard.

With Kayla Winkler, a junior at Leonard High School, standing on third base and Camp at second base, the ball bounced to the Flame's catcher, Carrie Wilson.  Wilson retrieved the ball and threw to third base - throwing wide left of the bag and the ball got away down the line. Winkler scored and Camp moved up.

After the play subsided, the home plate umpire motioned dead ball and called Avery Cranford, a sophomore at Sam Rayburn, out for interference on the play.  The ball had hit the bat of Cranford who was attempting to clear a throwing lane for the catcher.  The play was questioned by Manager D. Allen Hilsdon, but the umpire only said it was a judgment call and the batter was out - the third out of the inning.
