QUANAH, TX. - Park manager David D Turner will return with his Native American storytelling program on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. in the park headquarters/museum.

Although not Native American himself, Turner started using native stories while stationed in East Texas to help school children develop an understanding of native lifeways,  history, and culture.

"I had the opportunity to learn many ancient and traditional stories from tribal storytellers while I served at Caddoan Mounds near Alto, Texas," said Turner.  "The stories themselves are very entertaining, and it's great fun to tell them."

For more information on the storytelling program, or other park facilities or programs, contact the park daily during business hours at (940)839-4331. Copper Breaks State Park is located 13 miles south of Quanah and eight miles north of Crowell on State Highway 6.
