
"There will be some special program every Saturday for our visitors," said park manger David D. Turner.
The July 4 event is Cowboy Poetry at 8:00 p.m in the Day Use area across from Kiowa Campground. ON Saturday July 11, the Shutters and Shooters show will open. This unique presentation of the Annual Summer Art Exhibition will feature photographs and a one day only display of firearms and presentations on firearms.
The July schedule continues with the award winning StarWalk set for July 18; Sun Fun(solar observing) starts at 5:15 p.m. and the StarWalk starts at 9:15 p.m.
July's events conclude on the 25th with veteran Doug Holbert's presentation on Outdoor and Campsite First Aid at 6:00 p.m.
Every Saturday at 2:00 p.m. is "Meet the Longhorns" time. Visitors get a chance to hand feed some steers from the state herd.
