Texas Department of Transportation officials met with representatives of Texas Tree & Landscape, Ltd., on Thursday, June 25, 2009 to discuss traffic safety and construction procedures to be used during the upcoming Bridge Rail Retrofit project on five bridges located on northbound US 75 in Grayson County. These five bridges are: Post Oak Creek, Park Street, Center Street, Lamar Street, and Houston Street. The work will only be on the northbound sections.
The scope of this contract involves retrofitting bridge rail, metal beam guard fence, and curb & gutter. Texas Tree & Landscape, Ltd., has been granted 60 working days to complete this $452,260.00 project. The contractor will begin setting barricades and signs on Monday, June 29, 2009. Work is expected to be complete by August 17, 2009. All construction activities and equipment will be regulated so as to cause a minimum of inconvenience to the traveling public.
The traveling public is requested to observe signs and to be aware of lane closures and potential temporary detours. Caution and reduced speed is imperative when approaching these work zones due to the magnitude of the volume of traffic. Please remember that it is against the law to cut across on to unpaved surfaces and that traffic fines double in work zones when workers are present.
