MPAC director David Taylor comments, "We appreciate that families are looking for fun and affordable entertainment this summer, and our Monday Movie Madness series offers a special opportunity to view these nostalgic films. And during movie series this summer, audiences are welcome to BYOS, bring your own snack."
The Monday Movie Madness series features a 2:00 pm screening of a classic film followed by a 7:00 pm screening of a cult movie. The series began June 15 with a 2:00 pm screening of Li'l Abner (1940) based on the Andy Capp's famous comic strip about the residents of Dogpatch and the pursuit by the ladies in town to catch a husband. At 7:00 pm, MPAC screened Metropolis (1927). This legendary sci-fi movie set in a futuristic city with sharply divided classes was the most expensive production of its time.
On July 13 at 2:00 pm, it's His Girl Friday (1940) one of the greatest dialogue comedies ever made about a newspaper editor's efforts to keep his ace reporter ex-wife from remarrying.

Travel through galaxies with the episodic thriller in Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe (1940) at 7:00 pm.
Get swept off your feet with the light romantic comedy featuring Fred Astaire and Jane Powell in Royal Wedding (1951) on August 17 at 2:00 pm. Monday Movie Madness concludes with a 7:00 pm screening of the classic crime fighter and his pursuit to solve a series of brutal murders in Dick Tracy (1945).
