Deputy Brent Norris received a call of a Burglary in the 2000 block of east Shepherd Street near Denison. Upon arrival Deputy Norris spoke to the owner who stated while he was away from the residence, someone entered the residence he was fixing up and ripped the wires out of the walls and took conduit also from the house. The homeowner estimated that $2,000.00 replacement and damage was done to the house.
Sgt. David Sikes spoke to a resident in the 1100 block of Des Voignes Road east of Denison who stated sometime in the last two to three weeks someone entered his boat while it was parked under detached carport and took 11 rods & reels from inside the boat all valued at over $1,000.00.
Deputy Joe Ross took a burglary of a motor vehicle report from a Highland Village man who stated he parked his vehicle in the parking lot of Little Mineral Marina and slept on his boat. The next morning, the man discovered that someone had entered his unlocked vehicle and took his clothes, briefcase and wallet. The man told Deputy Ross he found his briefcase on the ground near his vehicle, but the wallet and clothes were still missing.
Deputy Rodney Campbell was dispatched to the Lighthouse Marina on Lake Texoma north of Pottsboro for a disturbance. People camping and staying in the cabins reported to Deputy Campbell a man was in the parking lot throwing rocks at the cabins and yelling. Deputy Campbell approached the Sherman man and could smell a strong odor of alcohol from his breath and he was unsteady on his feet. The man was arrested and taken to the Grayson County Jail for Public Intoxication.
Deputy John Pearson responded to a call of a Burglary of a Motor Vehicle at the Texas Instruments Recreational Area north of Pottsboro on Lake Texoma. Upon arrival the Caddo Mills Texas man told Deputy Pearson that between 2am and 10am, someone entered his unlocked vehicle that was parked next to his travel trailer and took a handgun, money, sunglasses, a check, GPS handheld and a radar detector from the vehicle.
Deputy Joe Ross was dispatched to the 300 block of G.T. Bailey Road near Whitewright on an illegal burn call. Upon arrival Deputy Ross made contact with a 16-year-old. He stated he was the only one present at the time and that his dad had started the pile on fire before he left. In the fire was roofing shingles, aluminum pipes, gutter drains and other items. The Van Alstyne Fire Department was dispatched to the scene to put the fire out. There were no citations issued at this time, because there were no adults present. This case will be turned over to the Grayson County Environmental Deputy on Tuesday for further action.
Deputy John Pearson also took a report from another man who had his truck broken into at the Texas Instruments Recreational Area north of Pottsboro on Lake Texoma. Upon arrival the Farmersville, Texas man advised Deputy Pearson that someone during the night entered his unlocked vehicle and took a laptop, money and an IPOD. The theft was valued at $2,800.00.
A Gordonville woman reported to Deputy John Pearson that someone has stolen her identity and social security number. The woman advised Deputy Pearson that she filed her income tax return and when it did not come back she called the IRS and they said they placed a hold on it because someone else had filed a tax return using her social security number. A copy of the report was sent to the IRS Fraud Division for more research to find out who is using her identity.
