Carrollton -- Tolar drew first blood, but the Bland Tigers came back to post a five-inning 11-1 win over Tolar to claim the area title. 

Tolar had a 1-0 advantage after the first inning, however Bland took the lead for good when the Tigers went up 2-1 after the second stanza. 

Bland put this one away with an eight-run third inning.  The Tigers scored a run in the top of the fifth and headed home with an 11-1 victory and the area championship.

Trevor Spillman picked up the win by fanning nine Tolar batters in five innings.  Spillman gave up four hits, but never issued a walk.

Cory Shinn led the Tigers at the plate with a 3-for-4 performance and Tyler Oakley hammered out two hits.  

Austin NeSmith, Dylan Groves, Ty Phipps, Michael Day, Ross Johnson, Dalton Holland  and Spillman all contributed hits.

This win brings the Tigers to 15-4 on the season.  Bland will face Windthorst in the Region II-A Quarterfinals.  It will be a best-of-3 series with the first game on Thursday and game two on Saturday with game three to follow if needed.  The place and time has not been determined.

The only thing that slowed down the Tigers on this night was a cottontail rabbit. Time was called until the little fellow was escorted off the field.
