Honey Grove's Kati Ashley named Beta Scholar

Honey Grove, Texas—The National Beta Club announced that Kati Ashley has been named a Beta Scholar which entitles her to a scholarship award of $1,000.     

Kati, a senior at Honey Grove High School, competed against more than 1000 candidates nationwide for this prestigious honor.  Two hundred fifteen scholarship recipients were chosen. Kati plans to attend the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.  She was recommended for this award by the local Beta Club sponsor, Ruth Ann Jones and high school principal Jeff Clark. 

“This outstanding young person represents the true spirit of National Beta, having excelled not only academically, but in leadership and service to school and community as well,” said Mr. Ken Cline, executive director of the National Beta Club. 

Kati is the daughter of Lonnie and Monica Ashley and Kevin and Chris Weaver.
