Fannin County Head Start celebrated Cinco de Mayo on Tuesday, May 5, 2009. Cinco de Mayo, which means “the Fifth of May” is the anniversary of a battle that took place between the Mexicans and the French in 1862.
The battle is known as the Battle of Puebla and it celebrates Mexico’s victory over the French.
There were different activities planned for the students throughout the morning such as: making corn tortillas, exhibits, art, games and some children performed dances.
