Texas A&M University-Commerce announces 2009 football schedule

The Texas A&M University-Commerce athletic department announced its 2009 football schedule on Wednesday. The schedule includes a September 12 contest against Abilene Christian for the 2009 Harvey Martin Classic at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.
 
In addition, the Lions will host Central Oklahoma (Sept. 26), Northeastern State (Oct. 3) and Texas A&M-Kingsville (Oct. 10) at Memorial Stadium.

A&M-Commerce and first year head coach Guy Morriss will begin the 2009 season on the road against Angelo State on Saturday, August 29. After the encounter with the Rams, the Lions will travel to Hammond, La. to face Southeastern Louisiana.
 
After hosting Abilene Christian at the Cotton Bowl, A&M-Commerce will travel to Eastern New Mexico (Sept. 19) before returning to Memorial Stadium for three straight games. The first of the three will be against defending Lone Star Conference North Champion Central Oklahoma (Sept. 26), followed by Northeastern State (Oct. 3) and the annual homecoming tilt against LSC South Division rival Texas A&M Kingsville (Oct. 10).

The next week, A&M-Commerce will face East Central on October 17th and followed by an open date, the Lions will travel to Southeastern Oklahoma State on October 31st and Southwestern Oklahoma State on November 7.
