Even in McKinney, the city that prides itself on being "Unique by Design," this was a unique evening.
Take a unique city, fly in a unique designer, mix in some of the hottest new models in North Texas and you have a recipe for a one-of-a-kind fashion event in the Lone Star State.
INDASHIO has been called the future of fashion and the 24-year-old designer certainly gave the crowd that filled McKinney Performing Arts Center a night to remember April 3.
In 2008 this event was held in Honolulu, but this year, hot on the heels of New York Fashion Week, the 24-year-old New York City celebrity fashion designer flew his collection to McKinney for his only show so far in Texas.
"I am thrilled to be making my Texas debut at the McKinney Performing Art Center!" exclaimed INDASHIO in an interview prior to the event April 4. "Texas has been a big supporter, and with the growing population of McKinney and the revival of their downtown area and businesses, I felt this would be the perfect location for my debut."

“The event gave Texas patrons the opportunity to experience NY Fashion Week in true VIP style, with red carpet arrivals and local model castings,” said David Taylor, MPAC Director.
Local models auditioned for future INDASHIO shows at a local casting call on March 31.
Fresh off winning the Vh1 Glam God competition hosted by none other than Vivica Fox, INDASHIO has already made fashion history by becoming the youngest designer ever invited to participate in the big three---New York Fashion Week, L.A. Fashion Week and Miami Fashion Week.
The McKinney event opened with "Paper Dolls," an artistic exercise where models hit the runway wearing newspapers.
INDASHIO has also developed a reputation as a humanitarian designer and a portion of the proceeds went his charity of choice, “Make A Wish Foundation.”
