Bonham, Texas -- Funeral services for Margaret June Nowak, age 81, of Denison, Texas will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, March 24, 2008 in the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Bonham, TX.  Officiating will be Father Wilson Blas and burial will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery.

Mrs. Nowak passed away at her home in Denison, Sunday, March 22, 2008. 

Margaret was born September 23, 1927 in San Angelo, TX to parents Joesph A. and Eva Cole. She was a graduate of San Angelo High School and Shannon Memorial Hospital Nursing Program in 1948, becoming a Registered Nurse.

Mrs. Nowak married Leonard Eugene Nowak on January 16, 1950 in San Angelo, TX. Margaret served country in the Army Nurse Corp. Mrs. Nowak was a twenty year Employee of Fairview Nursing Home in Bonham, also working for Rockwall Nursing Care Center and retired from the Bonham V.A.

Margaret was a lifetime member of The American Legion Ladies Aux. # 283 and Bonhan VFW Post # 4852. 

Surviving are Daughter – Valeria Shelbly of Denison, TX.

Son – Leonard Nowak, Jr. and wife Kwon of Nolanville, TX.

Grandsons – Michael Nowak of Nolanville, TX.

Thomas Shelby of Denison, TX.

Granddaughter – Anna Nowak of San Antonio, TX.

Great-granddaughters – Phoebe and  P.T.

Mrs. Nowak was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Jack A. Cole and son-in-law, Glen Shelby.

The family will receive friends at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home, Monday, March 23, 2008 at 5:30 PM for a Rosary, followed by a visitation until 7:30 PM.
