Tarleton hosting criminal justice career fair

STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS—Tarleton State University has the perfect job fair for people looking for a career in criminal justice.

The 14th annual Richard T. Shigley Criminal Justice Career Fair will be from on Feb. 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Barry B. Thompson Student Center.

Recruiters from more than 35 law enforcement agencies will be available to assist attendees with questions about their organizations, necessary qualifications and assistance in planning their current activities to maximize their future hiring potential.

Participants include the Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, the Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Parks & Wildlife and the Texas Department of Corrections. Also attending are representatives from multiple police departments including Austin, Bryan, Carrollton, Dallas, Farmers Branch, Flower Mound, Granbury, Haltom City, Killeen, Lake Worth, Midland, Euless, Hurst, North Richland Hills, Southlake, Richardson, Stephenville, Waco and Weatherford.

The event is open to anyone, regardless of educational major, interested in a criminal justice career. Two other local colleges are providing transportation for their students to the event. The public also is welcome.
