On Sunday night, February 15, 2009, two suspects kidnapped a Patriot Bank employee and her husband at gunpoint and attempted to rob the Ladonia branch.  The robbery attempt was unsuccessful, and the gunmen released the two victims and fled the area.

A Commerce Police officer observed a vehicle matching the description and attempted a traffic stop.  The vehicle fled from the officer through the Norris Community.  During the pursuit, two black male suspects bailed out of the vehicle at two different locations.  The driver continued fleeing a few more blocks, and then she bailed out of the vehicle also.  She was apprehended a few feet from the vehicle.

Air support from Texas DPS was called in, and during the aerial search, a subject believed to be involved was located and fled from police on foot.  He was subsequently captured under a storage shed.

Both the female and the male were arrested on unrelated charges.  Commerce Police Department, Fannin County Sheriff’s Department and the Texas Rangers are continuing to investigate this offense.

More information will be available from Fannin County Sheriff’s Department after 1:00 p.m. today.
