The A&M-Commerce Field House was just what the Texas A&M University-Commerce Lions needed, along with senior Britney Jordan and sophomore Genevieve Campbell.

Jordan netted 26 points, nine assists and six rebounds, and Campbell added a career-high 25 points with seven 3-pointers as the Lions snapped a two-game skid to beat the Eastern New Mexico Zias, 73-68, on Thursday night.

A&M-Commerce improves to 8-4 overall after falling in two straight games on the road, while the Zias drop to 9-8 on the season.

After the Lions had built an 18-point lead with 11:10 remaining in the game, Eastern New Mexico’s defense held the A&M-Commerce offense to just six points over the next  9:45 to sneak within four at 70-66 with 1:35 to go. Senior Nola Taylor then blocked  a Zia shot in the lane, followed by a Jordan steal and layup to put the game out of reach with 38 seconds remaining.

Campbell scored 16 points in the second half and finished 9-of-14 from the floor to help the Lions extend their home win streak to 12 straight, including five this season. The Rockwall, Texas, native has also hit at least three 3-pointers in each of the last four games, shooting 55.0 percent during that span.

Jordan and Campbell sparked A&M-Commerce in the first half as well, as each drained a 3 to spark a 10-2 run to open the contest. The Zias raced back with an 11-4 run to pull within one after a Cat Clay 3-pointer at the 15:00 mark, but a layup from Jordan sparked another Lion run as A&M-Commerce took a 41-31 lead into the half.

The Peoria, Ill., native and All-American candidtate poured in 20 points in the first and shot 8-of-12 overall, including three 3's.

Karen Grant and Tori Northcutt each scored 13, and Clay chipped in 11 with a game-high eight rebounds to lead Eastern New Mexico.

Taylor finished with seven points and six rebounds, and Jordan and Campbell were the first duo to score at least 20 points in a game for the Lions since Jordan and Katedria Mosley did the same last season.

The Lions will remain at home to host the West Texas A&M Lady Buffs on Saturday at 2 p.m.
