The Dodd City Lady Hornets dropped a close game with Miller Grove on Monday.
Miller Grove was up 10-8 after the first period and 21-17 at the half. Dodd City closed the gap to only trail by one point, 27-26, going into the fourth quarter, but Miller Grove hung on to win by two points.
Cassidi Rogers led Dodd City with 12 points, Samantha McCarty scored six, Katie Pickering finished with five points, Callie Maxwell put up three points, while Morgan Hartnett, Kayla Thompson and Sydnee Horton each added two points. Hailey Spindle hit a free throw to round out the Dodd City scoring.
Dodd City is 4-13 on the year and the Lady Hornets will host Ector next Tuesday in the district opener.
