CHAMBER MUSIC CONCERT
McKINNEY MUSICAL ARTS SOCIETY

Ordabek Duissen, violin
Dina Duissen, piano

Born into a family of musicians and surrounded by music since childhood, the brother and sister violin-piano ensemble of Ordabek and Dina Duissen started playing together at the State Special Music School for gifted children in their native city of Almaty, Kazakhstan. Since that time they have played together in Kazakhstan, Europe and throughout the USA.

After graduating with distinction from Kazakh National Academy in 2003, Ordabek came to the United States to continue his studies at Southern Methodist University in Dallas on a full scholarship and the duo took a two-year pause. When Dina graduated from Kazakh National Academy with distinction in 2005, she followed her brother to Texas after receiving a full scholarship to study at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.  Since then, they have continued to play chamber music on the violin and piano, with a repertoire ranging from the Baroque and Classical era to contemporary music and the folk melodies of Kazakhstan.
