Lower Mountain Fork River: Nov. 24. The fishing has been quite good during the last week. Fly fishers have two approaches to catching these trout. One is to imitate an insect, (tiny flies) the other is to offer an imitation of a minnow or crawfish (streamers). The insects hatching this time of year are quite small., Midges and small caddis while the baitfish/crawfish are relatively large. In zone 1 most fish have been caught on very small flies, but the fish in zone 2 have been more likely caught on baitfish patterns (streamers, i.e. wooly buggers and others). There are more available baitfish in zone 2 due to the generation and more small insects available in zone 1. Do not count out a wooly bugger for zone 1 fishing. That fly produces well anytime, anywhere. No reports from zone 3.  Report submitted by Beavers Bend Fly Shop.
