Will White had a huge night punting the ball, averaging 47.1 yards per punt, including three inside the 20 and four punts of 50 or more, with a long of 59 yards. However, it was the one he did not get to kick that preserved the Southeastern win. On 4th-and-1 at the 50 yardline with less than two minutes to play, Marcus High snagged the snap on its way to the punter and rumbled for 36 yards to the Bulldog 14 yard line to set up Jones' final field goal.

Offensively, Baylen Laury posted his second 100 yard game of the season, rushing for 109 yards on 18 carries. He also added a touchdown and 50 yards receiving on five catches. Ty Hull also snagged a touchdown and had three catches for 34 yards.

Brandon McCain tossed for 168 yard and two scores on 16-of-29 passing.

In all the Bulldogs outgained SOSU in total offense by a 441 to 295 margin, mostly on a 326 yard passing day.

Cameron Sparks and Noe Lopez dominated the game on defense, with each racking up nine stops. Sparks also added a pair of interceptions, while Lopez picked one up as well.

Jones got the scoring started for Southeastern with a 33 yard field goal at the 10:53 mark of the opening quarter.

Ty Hull would snag a 13 yard touchdown pass 2:19 later from McCain to push the lead to 10-0.

Jones again got into the action, this time with a 54 yard field goal at the 12:05 mark of the second quarter. The kick was two yards short of his career long of 56 yards, which is also tied for the school record.

McCain then added another score through the air, this time a 27 yard screen pass to Laury to put the Storm up 20-0 at the half.

SWOSU came out firing in the second half, scoring 21 straight points and taking a 21-20 lead with 13:24 to play in the contest.

Hewitt's knockout punch punt return came at the 7:44 mark of the final quarter and put SOSU up for good at 26-21.

Jones' third and final field goal then put the Storm up 29-21 with just 52 second to play and sealing the win.

SWOSU's Steve Day led all passers, completing 26-of-43 for 326 yards and three touchdowns, although the Storm was able to pick him off three times.

The Bulldogs' Kyle Wimberly also led all receivers in the game with 157 yards on nine catches with a touchdown.
