Grayson County Democratic Women will honor Ruby Jo Williams at the second biennial Eleanor Roosevelt Award Dinner to be held Oct. 21 in the Mabee Banquet Room in the Wright Center at Austin College at 6 p.m.

 

Keynote speaker Dr. Edra C. Bogle, Democratic candidate for State School Board, will meet supporters at 5:30 p.m. in the banquet room.

 

Williams, a long time Sherman Independent School District teacher and administrator, was the first African American principal at Washington Elementary School, served on several boards, including Teatricks, Goals for Sherman, Teacher Education Center Policy, and is a past chairperson of the Community Block Grant Fund.
