WEATHERFORD, Okla. - The Southeastern Oklahoma State baseball team (19-15, 17-11 LSC) completed a series sweep of Southwestern Oklahoma State (8-24, 6-21 LSC) in Weatherford, Okla., for the first time since 2004 with a 21-5 run-rule win in the finale.
It was another banner offensive day for the Savage Storm, pounding out 22 hits and eight of nine hitting starters collecting multiple hits.
Josh Rorex, Randall Clay, Robbie Morris, Scott Hancock and Tyler Johnson each collected three hits, while Johnson drove in six runs.
Kolby Williams picked up his second-straight win on the hill, tossing 6.1 innings, allowing five runs on 11 hits with three strikeouts. Clay entered to collect the final two outs of the game.
A Rorex double in the first kicked off the scoring by plating Cody Pearce, followed by a Wingo sacrifice fly that gave the Storm a 2-0 lead.
They pushed it to 3-0 when Pearce drove in Ryan Bowen in the second.
SWOSU trimmed the Storm lead to 3-1, but SOSU answered with a two-run single by Hancock and a two-run triple by Johnson to take a 7-1 lead.
The Bulldogs kept creeping up, picking up a pair in the third, but SOSU answered with a Clay home run in the fourth for a 9-3 lead.
A two-run double by Wingo and a three-run home run by Morris pushed SOSU to a six run fifth and a 15-3 lead.
SWOSU got two back in the bottom of the fifth, but a Rorex solo shot and a three-run blast by Johnson helped give the Storm a second six-run inning and set up the 21-5 run-rule win.
Southeastern will next be in action when it travels to southern Arkansas for a 1 p.m. double-header on Tuesday.
