In game one, it took until the top of the third for either team to get on the scoreboard, with the Warriors striking first when Ellen Burr doubled to score Hanna Braden to make it 1-0.
The ’Roos responded in a big way in the bottom half of the inning, with Faith launching a three run homer to start what would turn into a six run inning to put Austin College ahead 6-1. Brooke Delozier singled home a run and Laci Hart drove in two more runs with a double.

However, Faith led off the bottom of the sixth with a solo shot to make it 10-6 and the ’Roos shut the door on the Warriors in the seventh to seal the victory.
Faith went 3-for-4 in the game, scoring three times and driving in six runs to go along with her three homers. Delozier and Hayes each went 2-for-4 with an RBI, Hart went 1-for-2 and drove in two, and Sam Smith went 2-for-2 and scored a run. Ashley Johnson picked up the win after surrendering six runs, including one unearned, in seven complete innings of work.
Braden and Burr each had two hits to lead the Warriors, while Sarah Hightower took the loss after giving up four runs in 2.1 innings.
The Warriors jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first in game two when Heather Stroud singled to score two runs, but Faith hit an RBI single of her own to cut it to a 2-1 game heading into the second.
Carolyn Stone led off the bottom of the second with the first home run of her collegiate career to knot things up. After Kali Gossett hit a sacrifice fly to score Delozier to break the tie, the Warriors loaded the bases for Faith, who blasted a shot into the parking lot for the grand slam to make it 7-2.
In the top of the fourth, the Warriors cut into the Austin College lead when McKinzie Fruchtl hit a three run homer to make it a 7-5 game, but the ’Roos added one more run in the bottom of the fifth when Faith drew an intentional walk and eventually came home on a sacrifice fly by Delozier to make it an 8-5 game.
Faith finished the game 2-for-2 with five RBI and two runs scored, and Smith and Hayes each added a pair of hits. Gossett, Stone, and Delozier each drove in runs for the ’Roos, and Brittany Gaertner picked up the win after giving up five runs on 10 hits in seven complete innings.
Jaclyn Herrera took the loss for the Warriors, giving up eight runs, seven earned, on eight hits in six innings of work. Burr was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, while Stroud went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Fruchtl finished the game 1-for-4 with three RBI.
