Several special worship services are planned at First Presbyterian Church of Bonham during Holy Week. On Friday, March 21, the sanctuary will be open from noon to midnight for a prayer vigil. There will be a brief worship service at noon and at least one member of the congregation will be present at all times throughout the prayer vigil.

An Easter sunrise service will start at 6:30 am on Sunday, March 23 on the grassy lot adjacent the church property at the corner of 8th and Center. Immediately following the worship service, there will be a breakfast in the fellowship hall of the Williams Building. Dress is very casual for this service and warm clothing and blankets are usually recommended.

Additional Easter worship services will be in the sanctuary at 9 a.m. with the Praise team and at 11 a.m. with the Choir. The Rev. Dr. Sallie Watson will preach her last sermons in Bonham and communion will be served at these two worship services. Watson will soon be moving to Little Rock, Arkansas where she has accepted a position of Interim General Presbyter of the Arkansas Presbytery. In this position, she will lead the regional body of the Presbyterian Church that includes 92 churches in Arkansas.

Sunday school classes for ages 3 through adults will be held at 10 a.m. in the Williams Building and Youth House. One adult Sunday school class meets at Freenzee's coffee bar on the east side of the downtown square.

"Everyone is welcome to join us for any or all of these worship services," said one congregational member.
