Nature photography for fun, profit topic of March 29 symposium

KINGSVILLE - Ranch Nature Photography for Fun and Profit will be the theme of a symposium March 29 at the Texas A&M University-Kingsville Student Union Building.

The symposium is designed to educate amateur and professional photographers, as well as landowners, on how to develop settings on private land for optimal photography, according to Miles Phillips, Texas AgriLife Extension Service nature tourism specialist.

Images for Conservation Fund, AgriLife Extension and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department are coordinating the event.

The symposium, scheduled for 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., is open to the public. Admission is $75 and includes lunch.

The morning session will provide information for landowners and photographers on the photo tourism industry. Following a networking lunch, separate sessions will be presented: Photographers will teach techniques for capturing and editing images; landowners and tourism experts will discuss marketing and planning.
