The second session of McKinney’s newest summer art offering for adults and children has resulted in a fresh batch of fine art creations. For one week in historic downtown McKinney, sewing machines hummed, kilns baked, pottery wheels spun and creative minds were busy creating high-quality works of art.

Art campers, in sessions for adults and children, made fused glass jewelry and décor, pieced and quilted fabric placemats and coasters, painted ceramic tile murals, threw clay pots on a wheel, carved woodblock-type stamps, made metal and bead jewelry with hand-hammered findings, and much more. The creativity-packed week encouraged campers to make their own fine art with artists at Stained Glass of McKinney, Happiness Is . . . Quilting!, Historic McKinney Art House, and Walls of Clay.

A final weeklong session beginning August 11 has a limited number of openings.  Camp hours are 9 am – 4 pm; cost is $300 and includes all materials and snacks. A fine arts supply package for adults is available for a $25 fee. For more information and to register, call 214.585.4550.
