Serving as Chairman of the Senate Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Affairs, and Coastal Resources, as well as Vice Chairman of the Senate Natural Resources Committee, Estes has been a leader in the Texas Senate for the push for biobased fuels and renewable energy production.
"Biobased fuels represent an opportunity to decrease our dependence on foreign oil while strengthening our local economies," added Estes. "If we can replace foreign oil with domestic energy, then we keep more of our money and our jobs working here at home."
The Southern States Biobased Alliance is an advisory committee within the Southern States Energy Board, which seeks to improve the economic development and the qualify of life through innovations in energy and environmental policies, programs and technologies throughout the member states.
