Summer Art Camp shops, studios and galleries around the Square include Stained Glass of McKinney, Happiness Is . . . Quilting!, Historic Art House and Walls of Clay. Campers are accompanied to artists at each location, who take turns daily teaching the art of fusing glass, painting and throwing pottery, creating with textiles and fabric, making jewelry and more. Campers are encouraged to use these lessons to create their own unique pieces of art at each location.
The week-long camps immerse campers (with sessions for adults and children) in the fine arts, allowing them ample time to create several handcrafted projects. At week’s end, campers will have an assortment of glass art, jewelry or beads, dyed and stitched textiles, thrown pottery, ceramic murals and more. Projects can be combined, with handcrafted beads made into jewelry, stitched into the fabric they created or attached to their pottery.
Only a few spots remain for the session beginning August 11, Call 214.585.4550 for more information and to register.
