AC's Stefanie Faith named All-Region

SHERMAN – Austin College softball player Stefanie Faith has been named to the 2008 Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III All-South Region Third Team, it was announced today. 

Faith, a freshman first baseman from Rowlett, led the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with 12 home runs and 48 runs batted in.  Both totals are good for second most in SCAC single-season history.  In addition to her tremendous power numbers, Faith also batted .397 for the season with a .779 slugging percentage.  She was also among the conference leaders with 14 doubles. 

Faith was named the SCAC Player of the Week once this season, as well as being selected to the SCAC All-Tournament Team after leading the ’Roos to a third place finish at the conference championship. 

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
